102 Woman Becomes World's Oldest Skydiver

December 13, 2018 - 3:12 pm

What is your grandmother or great grandmother up to these days? We can pretty much guarantee she isn't doing what 102-year-old Irene O’Shea just did.

This past weekend, the centenarian went skydiving. It's a tradition she's held on to since turning 100. But this dive made history.

The Australian became the oldest skydiver in the world with this weekends plunge from 14,000 feet. O'Shea did the tandem jump with Jed Smith. As she has done in the past.

O'Shea has been dedicating the dives to her daughter. She died as a result of Motor Neuron Disease. The jump is made to raise awareness and funds to battle this disease that severely affects the nerves in the brain and spinal cord.
