WASHINGTON (KFTK) -- Representative Adam Schiff stated publicly during Wednesday's impeachment hearings that he does not know the identity of the whistleblower.

The statement in question came during an exchange between Schiff and Representative Jim Jordan.

"Of the 435 members of Congress, you are the only Member who knows who the whistleblower is, and your staff is the only staff who has had a chance to talk with that individual," Jordan said.

Schiff disputed that statement saying, "I do not know the identity of the whistleblower, and I am determined to make sure that identity is protected."

Many on Twitter, including Jordan himself, pointed out that Schiff does know who the whistleblower is and that his statement about protecting the identity of the whistleblower is contradictory to his denial of knowing the identity.
