NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Country star Kane Brown and Atlanta-based producer Polow Da Don are suing each other in a contract dispute that has both sides claiming they are owed money.

The Grammy-nominated producer, whose real name is Jamal Jones, sued Brown in February in federal court in Atlanta claiming breach of contract and asked for damages in excess of $75,000. Brown's attorneys filed their countersuit on Monday, claiming Brown was induced into a lopsided agreement that "cost him millions and drastically limited his earning potential and market value." Brown is seeking unspecified damages.

Brown's self-titled debut on Sony Music Nashville in 2016 was certified platinum and his sophomore effort, "Experiment," debuted at No. 1 on both the pop and country charts last year.
