Hundreds of thousands of federal employees have been out of a job, with many missing out on pay checks for the past three weeks, as the partial government shutdown continues. But one Mexican restaurant in Belleville, Ill. is among the many businesses around the U.S. trying to help.

Casa Maria Mexican Grill is giving a 20-percent discount on all food and soft drinks to all federal employees during this shutdown. And if you're among those who haven't seen a dime since the shutdown began on Dec. 22 – then your meal will be completely free.

The grill located at 100 N High St. in Belleville, posted about the deal on Tuesday.

They're following the lead of restaurants around the U.S., especially in the Washington D.C. area where the offers began as soon as the shutdown did. With freebies, discounts on sandwiches, meatball sliders, coffee, drink specials and extended happy hours.

Do you know of anywhere else in the greater St. Louis area that is offering discounted or free meals?
