Arits Breau and her husband moved into the Veterans' Home of California in Yountville nine years ago and she soon began offering her time as the organizer of a Bible study group. But now she's being threatened with explusion if she doesn't stop the practice.

She has been the volunteer Bible study leader for most of the last decade, bringing together other residents to talk about faith in a shared space of the home.

There was a discussion about heaven and hell last year that caused another resident to lose sleep and Breau was accused of "elder abuse, emotional abuse, and otherwise illegal" actions, according to her lawyer.

The veterans home told the 84-year-old woman in December her volunteer status was being suspended indefinitely due to an ongoing investigation, accoding to her lawyer. She was told by attorney's for the home that she would be kicked out if she didn't stop offering the voluntary Bible studies, claiming it was for the "health and wellbeing" of the residents.

The California-based law firm working with Breau is weighing all options, reports Fox News.

Breau's husband, who died a few years ago, is a military vet who served as a Merchant Marine, Army, in World War II and was in the Air Force during the Korean War. The two met in the 1950s while she worked at the Pentagon as a civilian employee in the Office of the Chief of Staff of the Army.
