City blasts 'Baby Shark' on loop to annoy homeless people, prevent them from loitering

If you've heard it, you know why it works.

(KFTK) — While some cities put policies in place to deter their homeless population from loitering, this city in Florida has a different tactic.

At the Waterfront Lake Pavilion in West Palm Beach, Florida, popular children's songs including "Baby Shark" and "Raining Tacos" are being blasted on loop overnight to discourage congregating, according to the Miami Herald.

While the weaponized music seems to be a temporary fix, the Herald reports that "the city wants to formalize hours for the facility, which should make trespassing laws easier to enforce."

Never heard of those songs? Listen and you'll understand why they're so effective.
