LOS ANGELES (KFTK) — Democratic front-runner for the 2020 presidential campaign Joe Biden said “we” have an “obligation” to provide healthcare to undocumented immigrants during a recent campaign stop in California.

"I think that anyone who is in a situation where they're in need of healthcare, regardless of whether they are documented or undocumented, we have an obligation to see that they are cared for," Biden said to reporters Wednesday night. "That's why I think we need more clinics around the country."

Biden goes on to say: “A significant portion of undocumented folks in this country are there because they’ve overstayed their visas — it’s not people breaking down gates, coming across the border.”

However, “unprecedented” numbers of immigrants continue to arrive in South Texas daily, according to the Rio Grande Valley Sector of Customs and Border Protection.

More than 10,000 people crossing the border illegally have been apprehended just in this past week, CBP said in a statement May 7.
