CLAYTON, Mo. (KFTK) — Michael Brown Sr. called a news conference to announce he will "demand" St. Louis County Prosecutor Wesley Bell to reopen the case of the fatal shooting of his son by a police officer five years ago.

"I am here today in front of you all and the world to demand someone look at the case," Brown said Friday.

Aug. 9 is the five-year anniversary of when Brown said his son was shot "in cold blood with no remorse," and Brown says the ensuing investigation was followed with lies from everyone from then Ferguson police chief to then County Prosecutor Bob McCulloch.

He said he has talked to Bell about reopening the case and was told his people will look at the evidence and the case to see if it can be reopened.

Brown said what he wants Bell to do is speed up the process, but says he has not be given any kind of timeframe as to when an announcement from Bell's office would be made.
