(KFTK) - A New Hampshire High School principal has been accused of violating the First Amendment rights of a freshman who wore a 'MAGA' hat and 'Trump' T-shirt to her school's 'American Pride Day.'

Fox News reports Ciretta Mackenzie, 15, says the principal told her to remove the cap and cover up her shirt because the wear violated the school's dress code.

The shirt read, 'Trump: Make America Great Again.'

"It doesn't say anything like 'build a wall,' so I don't understand how anyone could be offended, how it's disrespectful," said Mackenzie.

According to a statement from the school's superintendent, "This incident has been under investigation since Tuesday morning and is currently still under investigation."

The superintendent, noting that two students were asked to change clothing also said, "We will take steps to remedy this situation for all parties involved and ensure that this type of situation never happens again in any Epping school."
