LILBOURN, Mo. (KFTK) — Three small earthquakes shook up the Missouri bootheel Monday – all in the same hour.

The U.S. Geological Survey says three of the quakes happened during the 11 a.m. hour, clustered very close together near Lilbourn, Missouri along the New Madrid fault.

Each quake measured between 2.5 and 2.7 in magnitude. There were earlier reports of anywhere between four and six earthquakes in the area, but the USGS only confirmed three on Tuesday morning.
