(KFTK) - Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has come under fire for posting a video in which she praises millennials for being the first generation to call out the U.S. government.

In the video, which Ocasio-Cortez posted Tuesday evening, she says, "I think young people are more informed and dynamic than their predecessors."

She goes on to commend millennials, calling them "badass" for being activists and speaking out against the government for the first time ever.

The video was posted on Instagram Live and was reshared on Twitter:

But now Ocasio-Cortez is the one being called out for apparently forgetting about the protests of the 1960s, first in relation to the eventual passage of the Civil Rights Act in 1964 and, later, the Vietnam War. Some are even going back further, referencing such upheavals as the Boston Tea Party and the women's suffrage movement.

But, perhaps most notably, the Democrat is catching a lot of shade over her age: at 29 years old, she's officially a millennial.
