(KFTK) — Former Vice President Joe Biden continues to try to be the voice of reason among a very left-leaning Democratic presidential primary field.

So it's no surprise that he'd attempt to come up with a compromise for gun owners: turn in your assault weapons or register them.

Specifically, Biden wants to give owners the option to either register their guns or sell them back to the federal government.

Fox News reports the provision was part of a "wide-ranging" plan released Wednesday before a gun safety forum appearance in Nevada.

In addition to allowing states more freedom to implement their own "red flag" laws, Biden's plan would also ban high capacity magazines, increase background checks, end online gun sales, and eliminate protections for manufacturers of weapons used in mass shootings.
