Illinois State Police rescue injured bald eagle

Thanks to the troopers, the majestic bird is expected to make a full recovery.

SPRINGFIELD, Ill (KFTK) - Thanks to a couple of Illinois State Police troopers, and the citizens who placed the call, a bald eagle with multiple injuries is expected to make a full recovery. 

CPO Snodgrass and Tpr. Marrie responded to a call about the hurt bird on I-55 at the 105 milepost, just north of Springfield, Ill. Upon arrival, they found eagle had injuries to its head, wing and foot. 

According to the Facebook post from police, they were able to get it into a cage and transported to the Illinois Raptor Center in Decatur. 

They say the eagle is expected to make a full recovery and shared a photo of the stoic bird.
