June 22, 2018 - 3:07 pm

Missouri Governor Mike Parson signed legislation Friday to provide state funding to help investigate areas exposed to radioactive waste.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports the governor signed the legislation championed by Sen. Maria Chappelle-Nadal, D-University City.

The measure will allocate $150,000 annually to the Department of Natural Resources to probe sites like the West Lake Landfill in north St. Louis County.

The governor also signed a bill that exempts small farms from parts of the state's clean water law.
