Political party didn't matter one bit when it came to President Donald Trump fulfilling a man's dying wish this week.

Connecticut resident Jay Barrett, 44, has cystic fibrosis and is now receiving palliative care at his sister's house. He had one very big item on his bucket list – meet the President.

Although his sister, Bridgette Hoskie is a self-described "100 percent Democrat" and councilwoman in the city of West Haven she began to drum up as much support as she could to have her brother's wish reach the White House. She started an online petition, sent emails and asked for help on social media.

Then Tuesday night it happened. Barret had a phone call with the President.

Trump told Barrett: "Alright Jay, you look handsome to me. I just saw a picture of you."

He replied: "Oh, you're giving me kind honors. I look like sh**."

They Trump said: "You’re a champ. You’re fighting it right?"

Barrett answered: "That’s what the Irish do, right?"

You can watch a portion of their conversation published on YouTube:

Barrett was also contacted by Eric Trump and U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development regional chief Lynne Patton, reports the New Haven Register.

And he promised the President he'd "be sitting front, row center" at an upcoming Trump rally near his home.
