This divorce sent shockwaves through the community. Literally.

A Texas woman threw herself a party to commemorate the end of her 14-year marriage and blast-capped it off by blowing up her wedding dress in a scene out of an action movie. Check out the video above for multiple angles of the explosion.

Kimberly Santleben-Stiteler said the gesture helped bring her closure.

“I had a lot of advice and suggestions from friends and family, like donating it for premature babies and baptism gowns.,” Santleben-Stiteler told McClatchy newspapers. “However, to me, the dress represented a lie. I wanted to have a divorce party to burn the dress.”

With help from her father and brother-in-law, Santleben-Stiteler rigged the frock with 20 pounds of explosives -- “That’s really a lot,” a bomb tech friend reportedly told them -- and ignited the setup by taking aim with her firearm. The new divorcee hit the target on her first try.

The reverberations of the explosion were felt up to 15 miles away, neighbors later told the family. The marriage went out with a bang.
