FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. (KFTK) — The Forsyth County Sheriff's Office released footage today of a newborn baby being pulled from a plastic bag that was left on the side of the road.

The baby, who is being referred to as Baby India, was discovered June 6. Law enforcement said they are publicizing the video "in hopes to receive credible information on the identity of Baby India and to show how important it is to find closure in this case."

The video shows an officer opening a plastic bag to a baby crying — her umbilical cord still in place. The officer wraps the baby in a blanket and consoles her.

The local sheriff's office said Baby India is "thriving" in the care of Georgia Department of Family and Children Services.

Officials are urging those with information on Baby India to call the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office tip line at 770-888-7308. You can remain anonymous.
