Heritage Foundation’s Hans von Spakovsky says if we switch to a popular vote system, candidates will throw their hands up and never visit the ‘flyover’ states.

“They really don’t understand the way our Republic was organized,” he said.

The framers wanted candidates to win not a national election, but regional elections.

Is there anything that could be improved with the process now?

Hans said no, the founders knew what they were doing when producing this system. We’ve had centuries of political stability.

“We are one of the most stable Republicans in the history of humankind,” Spakovsky said.
