One of the greatest charges we have is help our neighbors. As a part of American Eagle Credit Union’s 80th Anniversary Campaign, KFTK will be heading out through our communities to support their Kindness Counts initiative. To kick-off American Eagle Credit Union’s 80th Anniversary, KFTK and Entercom St. Louis partnered with Heat Up St. Louis. Participating in this year’s 19th Annual Hardee’s Rise and Shine Heat Up St. Louis was not only community warming, it was heartwarming! We showed up at the Hardee’s location in Glen Carbon, IL at 7am and watched as customers continued to file in the store, line up around the building for the drive-thru, and walk up to our canisters to stuff them full of $1s, $5s, $10s, and $20s.

Hardee’s sells sausage biscuits and egg biscuits for $1 and donates the proceeds to help warm up the homes of those struggling to pay their heating bills. And as usual, the Greater St. Louis and the Metro-East region shows up in droves to support their local communities. During extreme cold temperatures Heat Up St. Louis supports those who are in need of utility assistance. The 19th Annual Hardee’s Rise and Shine event raised $571,000 surpassing the campaign goal of $300,000. American Eagle Credit Union and KFTK are proud to support initiatives to help better our communities.

I’d like to send a thank you to all of the people who showed up to support the Heat Up St. Louis effort, bought breakfast, and also the ones who said hello and that they love the station.

We love you right back.
