When Mueller made his statement regarding the Russia probe, he kind of handed the ball off to Congress.

What can amount from the information that they have access to and are trying to use against Trump?

“They are grasping at straws. I don’t think anything will turn up from those internal notes and documents,” Spakovsky said.

He noted that this might be a cover-up or a distraction set up for the American people to keep us occupied on the theory of Trump being guilty of something.

“To prove obstruction of justice you have to prove that someone has a corrupt motive,” he said.

Many Democrats in 2020 have been campaigning on the Mueller report and the idea of Russia collusion for political gain. Now that the idea has fallen through, they have moved on to obstruction.

It’s value to a political party to keep the idea alive.
