State funding for kid's classrooms going towards pension plans

VP of Communications at Illinois Policy Hilary Gowins tells us that 40% of the money states allocate for education will be taken away from students and teachers to meet pension plans.

Over the last decade, classroom spending has grown to $8.8 billion from $8.5 billion. Pension spending has double in the same time frame.
