What is the difference between impeachment inquiry and a criminal trial?

Judge Napolitano explained the two provisions the inquiry is based off of.

“All of this means that the niceties of due process do not apply,” the Judge said. “They don’t apply because the House rules don’t apply to them.”

The Judge said the Republicans who are complaining about the rules need to realize their party are the ones who created the rules.

The commencement of these closed-door hearings are perfectly legal and historically have happened for the other impeachment inquiries, Judge explained.

Napolitano elaborated on the legalities of what happened yesterday and will continue to happen next week.
