America needs an immigration system that has control

The Marc Cox Morning Show
July 13, 2018 - 10:00 am

Independent public policy analyst and author of the report High-Skill Immigrants in Low-Skill Jobs Jason Richwine joined the show this morning to discuss what ‘high-skill’ actually means when it comes to the education of immigrants coming into this country.

Trump calls for immigrants who want to enter the United States should come in based on merit and what their contribution would be to the US once they are here.  Marc echoes that sentiment.

“If we are going to have a high-skill system [for immigrants>, we have to make sure we are basing this on much more than education,” Richwine tells Marc.

So how do we solve this issue? Richwine said a point system that determines your specific abilities and an English literacy test.

“This is important because it’s hard to trust a degree system from a different country,” Richwine explained.
