FBI Infiltrating the Trump Campaign Comes Down to Expectation of Privacy

If a member of the FBI had a conversation in a public place with a member of the Trump campaign, a bar for instance, and gained information, the information is theirs to use as they see fit. However, if there was an expectation of privacy in the initial conversation, they would have needed a search warrant.

As this story unravels, if it turns out the Trump campaign was surveilled by the FBI, the key will be how and where the information was obtained.
