Mary Elizabeth Coleman is running for Missouri's 97th District. She joined the Marc Cox Morning Show to discuss her platform.

She tells Marct that she got into the race to put a stop to the "Blue Wave."

"In February, you remember ,my district became a data point for the so-called 'Blue Wave' and Conservatives all across the state, heck, across the nation, looked at our district and thought...that doesn’t make sense – a district that supports the president so heavily – something’s gone wrong there," Coleman explains.

That's when she decided to spring into action.

"I thought, 'okay if we’re going to be able to take back the seat, we’re going to need somebody who is able to do so'  and decided to throw my hat in the ring."

Coleman is a lawyer by trade but has a passion for innovation and business.

"My heart is in the start-up community and small business," Coleman says. "I’m a board member for Arch Grants and I was serving as the CEO of a legal startup until September of last year when I came home, we adopted our sixth child."

Being a mother of six and a lawyer is impressive as it is, but her story about being an 11-year-old entrepreneur will really impress you. She had to earn money for a school trip and quickly learned how government red tape can hold a small business down. She didn't let that stop her, though. Coleman wrote a letter to her local government to make change happen.
