Breakthrough medical procedure teams-up doctors in St Louis and Israel

Dr. Roy Beinart: Senior Physician Sheba Medical Center

The Randy Tobler Show
April 02, 2019 - 7:30 am

Dr Roy Beinart and Dr Randy Tobler discuss a new hope for sufferers of arrhythmia, a very common and potentially deadly heart condition that effects about three million Americans.

Arrhythmia is an irregular heartbeat that impacts blood flow in the body. One form, ventricular tachycardia, is the leading cause of cardiac arrest. The condition has a long history of complicated and often ineffective treatments that require extensive surgery.

Using this new procedure, physicians can directly target damaged heart tissue and restore the heart back to a safe and healthy rhythm. In trials, the non-invasive procedure takes less than 15 minutes, unlike traditional options which require 4 to 10 hours of sedated, invasive surgery.
