Liberty Justice Center filed lawsuit against Pritzker for social gathering ban

The lead attorney on the case discussed why the nonprofit decided to sue Pritzker.

Senior Associate Attorney Daniel Suhr said the people of Illinois deserve clarity on what is happening in the state.

In March, the governor placed strict orders for the state that people could not gather in groups of more than 10 people.

The order was given and if not followed, Pritzker would send in police enforcement and shut down whatever event or gathering being taken place.

“The problem of how they are approaching this is that it is the governor’s whim,” he said. “He is picking and choosing.”

The IL governor decided to pick and choose which events to hold accountable under his order and which events not to hold accountable, Illinois Right to Life had enough of it.

Illinois Right to Life is represented by attorneys from the Liberty Justice Center and they filed a federal lawsuit against Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker over his limits on gatherings and overreach of his executive powers.
