(KFTK) –  The president was encouraging the GOP Senators to vote for the stimulus bill to get it on his desk quickly to sign.

Senator Blunt said he was proud that the bill was bipartisan and that every Senator voted yes on it to pass.

Some additions to the bill seem to make unemployment more lucrative than having a job.

“Our goal was to keep the people off the unemployment roll,” the Senator said. “It’s disappointing that the president and the secretary treasury decided they had to agree with that,” Blunt said.

Congress's great desire, besides finding a vaccine for the virus, would be to get the economy going.

“We’re just trying to get the economy going in a time when none of us have seen something like this before,” he said.
