The ultimate concern for the fair tax is that middle-class taxes will go up as well as those who are rich.

According to Illinois Policy Institute analysis, income taxes rose 32% for individuals and 33% for corporations in 2017, raising Illinois’ total tax burden to at least 6th highest from 10th highest.​
