Four department heads in Madison County, Illinois, are requesting bonus pay for working through the COVID-19 pandemic.

MadisonRecord.com reports, the "Sheriff’s Department, State’s Attorney’s Office, Auditor’s Office, and Recorder’s Office have asked for the extra compensation for the payroll period ending March 27, though each department made different payroll requests. This request would have to be full-filled with taxpayer dollars."

Kurt Prenzler, Madison County Board Chairman, is fighting against the request.

He joins Marc to explain his position on protecting the taxpayers.

We also spoke with Major Jeff Conner, Chief Deputy Sheriff in Madison County, who explains the side of the departments requesting additional pay.
