What Missouri voters need to know about Amendment 1 & 3

Amendment 3 essentially undoes “Clean Missouri”. Senator Bill Eigel explains why he is a hard “yes” on Amendment 3.

On Amendment 1, Marc is a “no”. He maintains it seems to be a ‘solution in search of a problem’. Senator Eigel disagrees and explains his support for the constitutional amendment.

According to Ballotpedia:

“Missouri Amendment 1, State Executive Term Limits Amendment (2020)

A "yes" vote supports this constitutional amendment to limit the lieutenant governor, secretary of state, state auditor, and attorney general, along with the governor and state treasurer, to two terms of office.

Missouri Amendment 3, Redistricting Process and Criteria, Lobbying, and Campaign Finance Amendment (2020)

A "yes" vote supports amending the Missouri Constitution to enact the following changes:

  • eliminate the nonpartisan state demographer and use a bipartisan commission appointed by the governor again for legislative redistricting,
  • alter the criteria used to draw district maps,
  • change the threshold of lobbyists' gifts from $5 to $0, and
  • Lower the campaign contribution limit for state senate campaigns from $2,500 to $2,400. “
