(KFTK) –  St Louis based writer, Mark Horne joined Randy to discuss his book, Solomon Says: Directives for Young Men, based on the teachings of Solomon.

Mark and Randy agree the bible directly relates to what the world is dealing with during the Covid-19 pandemic.

"We've got the stuff that's flying around us in the kind of storm of events, and then we've got the storm inside ourselves, if you will, that kind of rise up and responds, and we've got to make sure it works for us and not against us," says Horne.

"The bible doesn't say anything directly about this [Covid-19]," says Horne, "but it talks about how we should make wise decisions and anxiety, in one sense it motivates us, in another sense it gets in the way of our thinking."

Horne is not surprised by spring breakers who are still partying during the pandemic.

"A lot of spring break is on the idea that I have to have fun in my life and its not related to what happens next in my life," says Horne. "Solomon says you're really playing Russian roulette if you do that. It's all about, you do need to worry about the future, or think about the future and prepare for the future, and taking big breaks to indulge in all sorts of exess is just a really stupid idea."
