(KFTK) –  Psychoanalyst and author, Erica Komisar joined Randy to disucss her latest piece for the Wall Street Journal, Lockdown Is a Stress Test for Relationships.

"I think this pandemic is going to change so many things," says Komisar.  "It's going to change relationships, it's gonna change lifestyle choic es  and job changes. There's so many changes that are gonna come out of this. Some of those changes are positive, and some are negative."

Komisar says following the shutdowns, she expects a lot of relationship changes, "in nine months, after this is over, we're probably going to see an increase, like there has been an increase in Wuhan, of divorce requests."

"I think we're going to see quite an increase in divorce requests, but I also think we're going to see an increase in births," says Komisar.

"Very few of us, if any of us, have seen this kind of adversity in our lives," says Komisar.  "Couples are used to some kind of adversity that you cope with in one way or another. You withdraw temporarily, or maybe you yell and have an outburst temporarily," and generally the stress happens to one partner or the  other, "I think everyone's feeling it together."
